Well another tough series that still ends with the question….. why?  In a nut shell Habakkuk summed up is…. Habakkuk complains, God says trust me I have a plan, Habakkuk complains, God says I have a plan I’m going to kill everyone, trust me, Habakkuk doesn’t like the answer and in chapter 3 he finally says this:

17 Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls, 18 yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will take joy in the God of my salvation. 19 God, the Lord, is my strength; he makes my feet like the deer’s; he makes me tread on my high places.

This doesn’t give us an answer, but to trust in the Lord and know He has a plan.  The key verse for all of Habakkuk is here 

2:4 Behold, his soul is puffed up; it is not upright within him, but the righteous shall live by his faith.

Remember we are NOT meeting this monday, we will get back in the swing on the 13th.  The next time we meet will be the last session for our Habakkuk series.  I hope we are all getting something from this book.  So until then we can make sure we read chapter 3 and watch the sermon on the lesson page…..  Also next Friday the 10th, is Good Friday.  If you can, make it a point to get to the creek for that service.  Good Friday is my favorite service at the creek if you can …… get there.  I posted a preview video for Vintage Jesus (our next series) on the lesson page so check it out to see what is coming up in a couple of weeks.  Steve had mentioned to me about prayer requests when we meet…. this is my fault so if I should forget PLEASE someone bring it up.  We need to be praying for each other.  Well thats about it…. if I’ve forgotten anything let me know or if anyone needs anything just shoot me an e-mail.  See everyone around the creek.

Well by request we will be starting this 3 week series until the Vintage Jesus series arrives.  So…. everyone thank Dianne for the suggestion… I recommend reading the first chapter of Habakkuk for next monday.  Yes Perrie, Habakkuk is in the bible. It is not a long book and the chapters are fairly short so it won’t take long to read. This is an awesome book and I am posting a link on the lesson info page for a sermon that goes along…. the sermons are about 30 min so if you have time to watch it, it would be helpful.

OK for anyone that missed Monday night, here are the words for the fill in section in session 2.  Also at the end of session 2 there are a couple of things.  On page 35 is the “Reaching Out Together” section.  We decided that the easiest and most practical way to do this is by bringing stuff for the food drive on Sunday.(Sunday is the LAST day we can do this) Also bring on Monday any clothes that could be donated to the LOTS ministry (perrie lynn will collect this monday night).  After reading over session 2 again, at page 38, lets try to make time for these prayers during the week…. thats it from me ….. just leave a comment if there are any questions….and just an FYI 1/5  of the Honduras team is from our lifegroup so lets love the world………  here are the fill in words:

I’ve been thinking all week about the start of the group, and my fear came true…. our group maybe a little nuts. After the initial shyness wore off a little we were already sharing simple things in our life.  I think sleeping with pets is a form of devil worship and you guys need Jesus…. you know who you are… but I am looking forward to diving into 40 Days of Love with you guys…. it should be interesting.  Any thoughts on tonight ?? just leave a comment..

The last couple of months this has been pretty slack, hopefully that will change.  Just a few things to repeat the updates page.  We will now be meeting @the creek Mondays at 7 starting on the 26th.  We are meeting in room 203.  If you are one of the newbies joining us ….. Welcome.  Everyone can check out the lesson page to see what we are starting next….. not too much other than that…. I will send out an e-mail if anything new comes up…. and I will find out about the food situation this weekend for lifegroups.

Tonight we finished our “Blessed” series.  There were a lot of hard questions that we had to reflect and wrestle with.  From our responses we see the work we all need and the new lens to view things through.  We’re now moving on to a new lesson called “Urban Legends”.  We may know most of these “myths” but were not able to explain the truth in our own words.  I think this lesson will at the very least equip us with the understanding to be able to teach others and grasp these truths of God.

Well this lesson has been haunting me since we started.  I am very much looking at how we do life.  What it looks like and what should it look like.  Most of it doesn’t match up.  We are taking the steps to line our lives to scripture.  This is not an easy walk and this lesson is asking all the hard questions and I think we are all feeling it.

Well we finished Habakkuk and will be moving on…. I suggest reading through the book again with maybe a better understanding what is going on.  I really enjoyed it and appreciate everyones participation.  This monday we will start something new.  Check out the lesson info page to get an idea of whats up
